In 1956, Chuck Minert won the Catalina Grand Prix on a modified Gold Star. The Catalina Grand Prix was a popular 100 mile race on the island of Santa Catalina off the coast of Los Angeles. In 1956 more than 1,000 bikes started the race. US west coast BSA distributorr, Hap Alzina, persuaded the factory to produce a replica named after the race. The Gold Star Catalina was manufactured from 1959 to 1963.

Our build features knobbly tyres, Aluminium mudguards & bash plate, Aluminium headlamp brackets / fork shrouds, heavy duty rubber fork gaiters, LED indicators & rear light, original type chrome rear mudguard stays, original type single seat, chrome braced handlebars, period style chainguard, Hagon shocks, and our custom made stainless exhaust (with removable baffle) which is a tribute to the original scrambler type.

Specification can be tailored for customer requirement.

We entered and raced a bike built to our specification at the Malle Mile Beach race, described as the 'Innapropriate motorcycle beach race weekend' hosted by Malle London on Margate sands, 13-14th May 2023.

We competed and survived, giving a good account of ourselves and proving the new BSA Gold Star in a competition event.

We would like to think of this as a world first for the new BSA Gold Star.
